The Stepix bug reporting platform at stepixai.com (the "Service") is operated by Algonix ("we", "us", or "our"), located at 2810 N Church St STE 89542, Wilmington, DE 19802 — a product of algonix.net. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you register, we collect your name, email address, and password (hashed). You may optionally set a language preference and timezone.

Bug Reports and Captured Data

When you use the Stepix Chrome extension to capture a bug, the following may be recorded and stored:

Screenshots or screen recordings of the page being tested
Page URL and title at the time of capture
Browser information: name, version, operating system
Device information: type, screen resolution, pixel ratio
Console logs: JavaScript errors and messages from the browser console
Network requests: URLs, HTTP methods, status codes, request and response headers (sensitive headers such as Authorization, Cookie, and Set-Cookie are automatically masked and never stored)
Interaction steps: clicks, form inputs, navigation events (passwords, OTP codes, payment card numbers, and authentication tokens are never captured or stored)

Billing Information

We use Stripe to process payments. We do not store full card numbers or payment credentials on our servers. Stripe's privacy policy applies to all payment processing: stripe.com/privacy.

Usage Data

We may collect basic usage data such as login timestamps and feature interactions to improve the Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
Authenticate your account and keep it secure
Process billing and subscriptions
Send transactional emails (account verification, password reset, payment receipts)
Notify you of usage approaching plan limits
Enforce our Terms of Service

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Data Storage and Security

Bug reports, screenshots, and videos are stored on Cloudflare R2 (private object storage). All media files are stored with private visibility and are only accessible via signed temporary URLs that expire after 15 minutes.

We use industry-standard security practices including:

Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit
Hashed passwords (bcrypt)
Signed, expiring URLs for media access

4. Data Sharing

We share data with the following third-party services only as necessary to operate the Service:

5. Public Share Links

You may choose to create a public share link for a report. When enabled, that report becomes accessible to anyone with the link without requiring a login. You control which details are visible (environment information, console logs, network requests). You can disable the link at any time from the report viewer.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your reports and associated media files are permanently deleted. You may also delete individual reports at any time from the dashboard.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate data
Delete your account and all associated data
Export your data
Object to certain processing activities
Withdraw consent at any time

8. Cookies

We use session cookies to keep you logged in and a preference cookie to remember your sidebar state and appearance settings. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
